KOHA Workshop

This courses will be useful to libraries who are planning to migrate their current expensive proprietary library system software and as well as the libraries that are yet to embarked upon a library automation system. This courses will be divided into two series of seminar/workshop and participants can choose either to attend only the seminar / workshop or both.

The one-day seminar covers the awareness of library system to users and libraries; current issues on KOHA System and sharing the experiences of librarians in implementing KOHA System. More specifically, the librarians and invited speakers will touch on the topics below:
1. The Importance of KOHA System to the library;
2. Implementation and experience of the use of KOHA System in the academic library / public library/resource center;
3. How to prepare the proposal for KOHA System; and
4. Overview of the KOHA Modules

The two-day workshop provides informative training to library professionals by providing adequate practical knowledge, which will enable them to automate the libraries on their own by using KOHA System. It addresses almost entire the system implementation and library process and participants will guide by our facilitators to use KOHA such as below:
1. Administration – Installation, Setting Parameters, Global Setting
2. Cataloguing – Authorities Control, Z39.50, RDA
3. Acquisition- Stock Inventory, Reserves Acquisitions
4. Circulation – OPAC, Patron Management
5. Serials
6. Reporting
